Measure the campaign in phone calls, not likes
A small business does not need reach. It needs the phone to ring. Two Larnaca campaigns, both on modest budgets, both measured on the only number that mattered to the client.

- Managed spend€1,640
- Per conversation≈ €51
- Spend€1,955
- Link clicks582
Campaign one: an estate agency
Plus Wise Estates, a real estate agency in Larnaca. Meta campaigns optimised for phone calls rather than clicks. €1,640 of managed spend produced 32 calls — about €51 per conversation with a real prospective buyer.

Nobody counted impressions. The agency counted how many times someone rang the office.
Campaign two: a tutoring centre
Frontistirio Dinami Gnosis, a tutoring centre in Larnaca. Campaigns timed to the enrolment window rather than spread evenly across the year. €1,955 produced 24 phone calls and 582 link clicks.

The timing did as much work as the targeting. A tutoring centre advertising in January is competing with nothing but the parent’s memory. Advertising six weeks before enrolment closes is a different business.
Why "likes" survive as a metric
Because they are easy to produce and impossible to argue with. Reach and engagement always go up if you spend more. They tell you almost nothing about whether the money came back.
Phone calls are harder to report and much harder to fake. That is why they are the number worth reporting.
How to switch
- Pick the one action that means money for you — a call, a form, a booking, a walk-in.
- Make the ad account optimise for that action, not for clicks or reach. This is a setting, and it is usually wrong.
- Make sure the action is tracked. A call button nobody measures is not a conversion. It is a hope.
- Then judge the month on that number and nothing else.
Neither campaign had a big budget. Both were under €2,000. They worked because the creative and the targeting were planned together, and somebody was counting the right thing.
More of the Larnaca work is on the Larnaca page, and the campaign side is explained on paid ads.
